After School Sports

ATHLETICS AND HEALTH FOR EVERY MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT.

The Foundation's After School Sports Initiative provides funds for an after-school sports program at all seven TUSD middle schools.  Thanks to generous community donations, students at Columbus Tustin, Sycamore, Hewes, Legacy Magnet Academy, Pioneer, Utt, and Orchard Hills Middle Schools have the opportunity to participate in organized intramural sports.

About our program

After school sports is an opportunity for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students to play after-school sports!

  • This intramural program is fun with no cuts or try-outs.

  • Practices are held on campus after school, with occasional travel to other schools for scrimmages.

  • The emphasis is on skill development, sportsmanship and teamwork.

  • Students learn the rules and strategies of each sport in a supportive environment, coached by middle-school teachers.

  • Both experienced and novice athletes are encouraged to participate.

  • Scrimmages are self-refereed by students.”Festivals” will have professional referees.

This intramural sports program is sponsored by the Tustin Public Schools Foundation (TPSF) and the Tustin Unified School District.
