Dino Dash FAQ
1. When and where is the Dino dash?
Sunday, November 6, 2016 at The Market Place in Tustin (Dick's Sporting Goods lot), off the I-5 at Jamboree.
2. Can I register at the race?
Yes! Registration opens at 6:15 am.
3. Where should I park?
There is plenty of free parking at The Market Place. We recommend parking in the Best Buy or Home Depot lots, entering from Jamboree. If you have a VIP parking pass, please enter off of jamboree at West Street. Please have your pass visible to enter the VIP parking area.
4. What time should I arrive?
We recommend you arrive 30 minutes before your event start time to allow time to park and get to the start line. Add extra time if you need to pick up your race bib and t-shirt.
5. If I want to accompany my child during the race, do I have to register?
We encourage families to run or walk together. Parents do not have to register to accompany their children - however we hope you will, as all proceeds support our schools.
6. Is the bike tour timed?
The bike tour is not timed. All cyclists are expected to follow the rules of the road and to safely follow the course.
7. Who gets an award?
Age division winners in the 5K race will receive a handmade dinosaur trophy and $20 to The Market Place.
Age division winners in the 10K race will receive a handmade dinosaur trophy, $20 to The Market Place and $50 to Dick's Sporting Goods.
2nd and 3rd place finishers in each 5K and 10K age divisions will receive commemorative medals.
All 5K, 10K, and 15K/50K Bike Tour finishers will receive a Finisher Medal.
All 2K finishers will receive a Dinosaur Dash finisher's wristband. The Dinosaur Dash is open to runners of all ages.
8. Where do I get my award and where are the times posted?
You may pick up your first place trophy, second place medal, or third place medal at the Awards Booth in the venue once all finish times are final. We appreciate your understanding and patience as this takes time. If you need to leave after the race and cannot wait, you may email firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a day and time to pick up your award.
9. What happens if it rains?
The Dinosaur Dash happens rain or shine.
10. Are dogs allowed in the expo area and on the course?
No, dogs are NOT allowed in the expo area and not on the course. Service dogs are allowed.
11. Are strollers allowed on the race course?
Yes. Strollers are welcome on the 10K, 5K, and 2K courses.
12. Will there be other activities at the Dinosaur Dash?
Spend time before or after the race at our Expo, with games, activities, tasty treats and more. The Expo features our sponsors and schools and will be open at 7:00 am.
13. Will food be available?
Yes, our food court features a variety of fare from some of the area's best restaurants. Food court tickets, which are $5 each, can be purchased with your registration or on-site at the Dash. All food court proceeds support our schools. Many of our schools also offer treats for sale in the Expo area.
14. Will there be an area for teams?
Yes, we will have an area where teams can meet. You are welcome to bring your own pop-up canopy. The team area is close to the finish line, off of El Camino Real.
15. Will I get to meet "Dino" the Dinosaur?
Dino will be at the Dash. Look for him throughout the day - be ready with your camera!
16. I need to edit my registration. Is this possible?
Yes! Go here to edit details such as your name, race or bike tour, additional products, and more. No editing after Tuesday, October 25.
17. My plans have changed. How do I get a refunds?
We do not offer refunds for the Dinosaur Dash. If you would still like your t-shirt and race bib, you are welcome to collect it at pre-registration. Or contact us after the race, and we'll be glad to get you your shirt.
18. Are child bike seats or trailers allowed on the bike course?
For safety reasons, we do not allow child bike seats or trailers on the bike tour courses. This includes any seat attached to a bike or the pulling of a trailer.
